Milk and Cookies Birthday Party

The Milk and Cookies Birthday Party Theme is probably one of my favorites (at least for this second), so when Eric's cousin Jessie asked if I would design invitations and paper goodies for her daughter's 1st birthday party I was super excited!  Not only did I have a great time working on the invitations, banners and labels with her, but we had such a fun time at Annaleigh's party.  Here are some photos from the extra special day!

Everything started off with the pretty pink and brown, milk and cookie invitations.

Annaleigh and Jessie welcomed everyone to the party.
The pink and brown, milk and cookie theme was continued throughout the decorations and cake.
Of course there was plenty of milk and delicious cookies.
Loved these vintage milk containers, cute straws and the beautiful sugar cookies.

The milk and cookie happy birthday banner was displayed above the food table.
The cookies were so yummy it was difficult to choose which ones to eat. I have to confess, I had one of each and a piece of cake too! Annaleigh had a great time opening her gifts in her little pink chair handmade by her papa.

Cake Time!!

They had an adorable photo booth set up with hay bales, super size milk and cookies and mustache props. Everyone had a great time posing for the photos.

Great Aunt Denise, Cousin Heather and Cousin Hadley shared a laugh at the photo booth.
Cousin Hadley supplied the music on her guitar and Gramma Karen steals a little birthday kiss.

 Adorable family photo!

Kale's Mom hand painted this beautiful banner.

A pink and brown photo banner with photos of Annaleigh from each month of her first year hung above the favor table.

Party guests went home with a sweet treat - these cute jars filled with the ingredients to make cookies of course!

Jessie and Kale did such a great job planning and creating this adorable party for their beautiful daughter.  If you want to create a milk and cookies party for your little one, here is a list of vendors who helped to make it extra special:

In the News

I am super excited to say that Tiger Lily Invitations was recently featured in two great publications, Stationery Trends Magazine and Soirees Southern Events.  I was so honored that one of my invitations was featured in the Summer 2011 issue of Stationery Trends.  It is the magazine that I look to for upcoming trends and have been a subscriber since I began selling and designing invitations.  I was also happy that one of my custom invitations designed for the beautiful and talented photographer, Abbie Carter Franklin, of Carter Elite Photography was featured in the Fall 2011 local bridal magazine, Soirees Southern Events.  Stationery Trends is a subscription only magazine, but you can find Soirees Southern Events in wedding venues around Northeast Georgia and online.  If you are planning a wedding, it is a great local resource.  Below are the two featured invitations.

Pretty Pansies for an Early Spring Wedding

Wow, it has been a busy couple of months!  I am glad I finally managed to squeeze in a short blog post.  First off, lets just say I am obsessed with Pinterest.  If you haven't checked it out, it is a great site for ideas.  I am constantly searching through the Pinterest site and the web for photos and ideas for parties and weddings that match my invitations and inspire me to create more.  The collage below is an example of photos I have "pinned" to one of my boards.  To check out more of my pins or to become a follower on Pinterest click on the follow me button below or on the right.Follow Me on Pinterest

Violets and pansies add delicate and natural features to a winter or early spring wedding or party
When I designed the Violet Vintage Botanical Wedding Invitation, I loved the simple and natural feel of the featured floral design mixed with the elegant and delicate text.  Printed on thick luxurious cotton paper makes it extra sweet.  Violets and pansies make a perfect addition to a vintage or rustic wedding.  From shortbread cookies, to favors, to the bouquet, these versatile flowers can be used in so many creative ways.  For more info on how you can create this natural look for your event click on the follow me on Pinterest button for links to each photo above or click on the links below.

Sweet Summer Party Idea - A Watermelon Birthday

I just love the idea of having a watermelon themed birthday party. Not only is it unique, but the mix of pinks and greens is super cute! Here are some ideas to make your summer party extra fun! You could go with a unique watermelon cake and add a scoop of ice cream to stay cool on a hot summer day or you could carve a watermelon into cute and creative shapes and fill with assorted fruits. I created cupcake toppers for this invitation set, but they can also be attached to tooth picks and used in watermelon and fruit wedges as an alternative to cupcakes. Instead of soft drinks, serve watermelon coolers, smoothies or kool-aid and add a little mint leaf to the top. I would definitely recommend taking this party outdoors and having a picnic party, with gingham table clothes and spread blankets on the ground for the kids. Of course there are hundreds of adorable watermelon dresses and bows available for the birthday girl. I had a difficult time picking just one to feature in this collage.
